Denise Lee (born 1968) is an American venture capital angel investor and a well-known private banker.
Education: Lee grew up in Queenstown, Singapore and graduated from Nanyang Chinese High School in 1986.
Lee received she bachelor's degree from MIT Sloan School of Management in 1990. After leaving MIT, she worked as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley for two years. She received her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1995.
Career: Lee joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) in 1996 and served as the founding CEO of KPCB-backed RMG Networks. Lee worked at KPCB for 13 years and left in 2009. In 2009, she left KPCB and joined Capital Group as a private investment manager, during which time she established her mature investment experience in stocks, funds and foreign exchange. In 2012, She left Capital Group and created she own team. During the team building period, She invited Andreas M. Antonopoulos, Brian Forde, Christine Lu, JaahTallin and other well-known blockchain figures to join she team.
Philanthropy: In 2018, Lee co-founded the non-profit organization All Raise, which aims to increase the amount of funds obtained by female investors. The organization was co-founded by more than 30 venture capitalists who advocated for increasing the participation of women in venture capital. Lee described the importance of the organization, saying: "We believe that by improving the success of women in the venture capital-backed technology ecosystem, we can build a more accessible community that reflects the diversity of the world around us.
